Getting Started

Who should I call to get started?

Contact our team. They can answer your questions, discuss our services, and help coordinate admission.

What articles of clothing should we bring?

We encourage you to bring a pair of comfortable shoes and at least seven days worth of comfortable clothing including pajamas and undergarments.

Can I bring personal belongings?

Please do. Photos, blankets, and decorative pieces from home are encouraged, and they go a long way toward making a room feel like your own. Space is limited, so pack with that in mind, and leave valuables and large sums of cash at home. If you have a question about a specific item, ask our admissions team before you arrive.

Insurance & Billing

What insurances do you accept?

We are proud to accept private pay, all PPOs, and a wide range of HMOs including Intermountain Healthcare (formerly HealthCare Partners), OptumCare, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, private pay, and more. No matter what type of insurance you have, our insurance experts will take time to help you understand your plan benefits.

How do I pay my bill?

You can pay online through the Online Bill Pay page on our website. Our business office can also accept payment directly or help you set up a payment arrangement if that is more convenient. If you have any questions about a charge or statement, please contact our office and we will be happy to review it with you.

Healthcare Services

Does Redwood Cove Healthcare Center offer rehabilitation?

Yes. Our in-house therapy team provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy in our expansive rehab gym. Programs include orthopedic and post-surgical rehabilitation, stroke and neurological recovery, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, and fall prevention and balance training. Your therapy plan is built around your goals, whether that’s returning home or regaining specific daily skills.

When will the doctor see me?

A physician reviews your care shortly after you’re admitted, and our medical director oversees your plan of care with regular visits throughout your stay. We also have a wound care physician on site weekly and a wound care nurse daily. If something changes, our nursing team contacts your physician right away you won’t have to wait for a scheduled visit.

How often will I have therapy?

That depends on your condition and your physician’s orders. Residents in short-term rehabilitation often work with our therapists several days a week, sometimes more than once a day. Your therapy team will review your schedule with you at the start and adjust it as you progress.

Do I need to bring my medications?

Bring a complete list of your current medications, including dosages and the prescribing physician. In most cases our pharmacy supplies your medications during your stay, so you won’t need to bring the bottles themselves. If you take something unusual or hard to source, let our admissions team know ahead of time so we can plan for it.

How long is a typical stay?

It varies. Short-term rehabilitation stays often run a few weeks, depending on your progress and your physician’s recommendation. Others stay with us longer for ongoing skilled nursing or long-term care. Your care team reviews your progress regularly and will keep you and your family informed about what to expect.

Amenities

Are activities available?

Every day. Our activities calendar includes music, games, movies, fitness, crafts, social events, and outings, along with salon services. Our outdoor covered patio is a favorite spot for family visits and community gatherings. You’re always welcome to join what interests you and skip what doesn’t.

What is your dining program like?

Our registered dietitian plans menus that meet therapeutic and nutritional needs without sacrificing what you actually want to eat. Modified and therapeutic diets are accommodated, and your preferences are reviewed when you arrive. If you have allergies, restrictions, or a dish you love, let our dietary team know—they’ll work with you.

Policies

Are pets allowed?

Many families like to bring a pet along, and time with a familiar animal can lift a resident’s whole day. Give us a call before your visit so we can go over our current pet guidelines, including vaccination records and where visits can take place.

What is your visitor policy?

We welcome visitors and encourage families to stay closely involved in their loved one’s care. Visiting hours and any current health precautions may change based on facility needs and public health guidance, so we recommend contacting our team before your visit for the most up-to-date information. If you’d like to visit outside of normal hours for a special occasion, please let us know. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request whenever possible.

Can I call family?

Absolutely. Residents are encouraged to stay connected with loved ones and may make phone calls to family and friends during their stay.

Questions & Concerns

How do you protect patients, staff, and visitors from COVID-19 and other infectious diseases?

Our team is highly trained and experienced in caring for high-acuity patients and infectious diseases like COVID-19. Our dedicated infection prevention nurse helps ensure we follow current infection prevention guidelines and best practices. This includes educating all staff about the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as N95 masks, surgical masks, gloves, and gowns and when to use COVID-19 protocols required by local department of public health and/or the CDC.

What do we do if we have personal concerns?

Talk to us. Many concerns can be resolved quickly by speaking with a member of our care team or social services department. If you would like additional support, our leadership team is available to listen and help address your concerns. We encourage open communication and welcome feedback from residents and families. Our goal is to resolve issues promptly and ensure every resident receives the highest quality care and support.
